Alex Rogeo drove her Liquid Glow MAHLE Arrington Dodge Magnum to the finals in the Modern Muscle class at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway today. Alex earned solo runs on the basis of quick RTs on the way through the field to the final.

“It was great to go to a final round again,” said Alex. “We really have a handle on this car now. Even when the track started to go away in the late afternoon heat my crew made great decisions and was able to keep the setup one step ahead of the track. I’m a racer, so obviously I always want to win, but you can’t win them all. As a team we’re glad to know that all of the hard work from us and our partners has given us a car that is capable of winning right from the start of the season.”

Alex’s car, a 2007 Dodge Magnum, which is a project car for magazine, was consistent and quick all weekend long. Its Magnuson supercharged Arrington Performance engine made her the quickest car in the field. Alex used this to her advantage.

“Thanks to partners like Mickey Thompson, Westminster Performance Transmission, The Driveshaft Shop, FTI Converters, MAHLE Aftermarket and Motorsports, LAT Oil, Diablosport, Champion Spark Plugs, Strange Engineering and Hedman Hedders, I have a 4,000 pound race car that is much faster and more consistent and reliable than you can imagine. Together we’ve developed parts and combinations that make this ‘station wagon’ a highly competitive race car.”

Alex’s crew chief and MoparMax Editor-Publisher, Richard Kratz, said, “We talked to a lot of fans over the weekend. This is a major Mopar event and brings out Mo-Folks from all over North America. A lot of them asked a lot of questions about the parts in the car and often took notes about what we’ve done. That’s our job, to race this car and show late model HEMI owners what can be done with the parts and service available to them. All of the parts on this car can be ordered from our partners, which means you can take advantage of the research and development we’ve done for your own Gen III car.”

“Phil and Jill Painter put on the best Mopar event in the world,” said Alex. “It was great to be a part of it and felt really good to put this beautiful race car into the final. While we never get much of a chance to enjoy all of it, for instance we didn’t get to go to the free Queensrÿche concert at the Cannery on Saturday night or the big Moparty on Friday night that they have there as well. But I did get to participate in the Dodge Thrill Ride and got to ride in a Hellcat and Viper, which was really cool.”

Part of Mopars at the Strip that make it a unique event is the autocross and car show. “So many gorgeous Mopars old and new,” said Richard. “I almost wish we weren’t racing so we could take in the full event. Almost!”

Alex says she’s ready for race two in the Pacific Street Car Association at Fontana on May 1st. She thanked her partners Mountain View Performance and Bell helmets for keeping her safe in her race car.
