Hedman Performance Group Pulls The Cover Off The PCHRODS Camaro “50/50” At The 2016 SEMA Show

The Hedman Performance Group was excited to unveil of the PCHRODS Camaro at the 2016 SEMA Show. Commissioned by Jose Moreno, the owner of Intro Wheels, this one of a kind 1969 Camaro was built to combine modern luxury with pro-touring performance.  The result is a car with the class, sophistication, and performance to rival any modern luxury sports car.

6y8a1959The Intro Wheels Camaro gets its power from a Chevrolet Performance LS3 crate engine which has been upgraded with a Chevrolet Performance ASA camshaft, MSD ignition, and a Holley Performance 95mm throttle body, billet fuel rail and EFI system, while a set of Ringbrothers Billet Aluminum Valve Covers and a Billet Specialties Tru Trac accessory drive ad a bit of flair under the hood.

Mating the modern powertrain to the classic chassis comes by way of a host of HP Group products, including a set of 304 Stainless Steel, Gen 1 Camaro LS swap headers from Hedman Hedders that exhale through a MagnaFlow stainless steel exhaust system, Trans-Dapt engine mounts, and a Hamburger’s Performance LS Swap Oil Pan.

To get the power to the ground, a Centerforce DYAD twin disc clutch feeds power through a Tremec T-56 Magnum 6-speed transmission and then through an Inland Empire Driveline Aluminum Driveshaft and Currie 9-inch rear end with 3.90 gears.  Finally, a set of custom Intro three-piece forged wheels that measure 18×10 in the front and 18×12 out back were shod in massive 305/30R18 and 335/30R18 tires to give the Camaro supercar levels of grip.

Keeping the Intro Wheels Camaro planted when thrown into a corner at high speed is the job of the thoroughly modern Detroit Speed suspension.  The replacement hydro-formed front clip features spindles from the C6 Corvette and is connected to the Detroit Speed Quadra-link rear suspension, with a set of subframe connectors for added structural support, all aided by the JRI/DSE coilovers which provide the driver with precise damping control.  Bringing the F-Body to a halt is the job of the custom Baer Brakes/PCHRODS 6P 6-piston calipers with 14-inch rotors.

Being a luxury sports car this Camaro needs to do more than just go, it has to look
amazing while doing so.  The car’s finely crafted metalwork is finished in a classy BMW Charcoal Metallic paint and is accented by black rally stripes.  Further stylistic accents around the car include JW Speaker LED headlights and driving lights with billet aluminum headlight rings from Ringbrothers, Marquez Design Tail Lights and Fog Light Mounts, Ringbrothers door handles, hood hinges, and door strikers, and a custom aluminum front spoiler.  To add another custom touch to the car, all of the trim pieces were finished in a durable Cerakote.

Finally, no luxury performance car would be complete without an interior that 6y8a1936
surrounds the driver and passenger in style and comfort, but also shows it means business.  Though the Leather and Alcantara upholstery may make you think that you are behind the wheel of a lavish European estate car, as soon as your eyes look out over the modern custom carbon fiber dashboard with Autometer LCD Competition Dash, there is no mistaking that you are in a car that is ready to deliver serious performance too.  Finishing off the luxurious appointments of the interior are a set of Marquez Design door panels paired with a Marquez design one-piece headliner and package tray, while a Restomod Air climate control system keeps the occupants comfortable at any speed.  And because no luxury performance car would be complete without a top of the line in-car entertainment system, the Intro Wheels Camaro also features a custom DB Drive custom audio system.
