Josh Edwards Takes Down Coscarelli at the JE Pistons NMCA West Coast Shootout in Pomona, CA

The second race of the National Muscle Car Association’s NMCA West series drew hundreds of racers and muscle car fans to the historic Auto Club Raceway in Pomona, CA.  Always the favorite venue of the season, the weekend was packed with full-throttle racing action and more than a few upsets.  The Hedman Hedders Nostalgia Street Car class was once again one of the largest classes of the event, with 41 cars making the grid for the start of elimination racing on Sunday morning.  Though the field was packed with seasoned veterans like Mike Nordahl (who won 3 Wallys in a single event last year), Ron De Hoop, Steve Cox, and Frank Coscarelli, stiff competition and some very determined racers would see many of these icons fall. Cruisin’ for a Cure Charity Car Show 2012

Once a year the Southern California classic, muscle car, and hot rod communities descend upon the Orange County Fairgrounds to attend the Cruisin’ for a Cure Charity Car Show.  Benefitting the City of Hope Foundation and raising money to fund Prostate Cancer research, this car show is the largest charity classic/custom auto show in the world and had over 3,400 cars in attendance for 2012.  But this car show is more than just a fundraiser; it is a place to celebrate the automotive lifestyle.  To help embrace this lifestyle, the show has more than just the normal rows of parked cars.  Weaving throughout the show grounds is a half-mile long “Cruisin’” route that allows owners to fire up their rides and take part in one of the staples of American car culture – cruising.
